ISAL Team Models View from the Proposed GoPro Hero 4 Camera in Orion Pilot Window for Exploration Mission 1 (EM-1)

Our Image Science and Analysis Laboratory (ISAL) team modeled a view from the proposed GoPro Hero 4 camera in the corner of the Orion pilot window for Exploration Mission 1 (EM-1). The camera position/orientation proposed provides a more optimal view of parachute steady state with expected hang and flyout angles. EM-1 is currently planned to launch in the fall of 2018 as the second test flight of the Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle. The desire is to select a camera position/orientation that can remain the same for EM-2, the first crewed mission, which has a tentative launch window in 2021.
